State of Missions in Japan

mission japan

A man named Caleb Trim created this incredible info-graphic to show the state of missions in Japan. It was shared on a blog post by his wife, Beth. They both deserve all the credit for this and their post can be found at Trimmed Tales. Yuka and I live in Kanagawa where the population to church ratio is at 16,000 - 19,000 people . . .

I am not sure where these statistics came from but I can assume that they did some good research before putting this together. One of the most damaging statistics is that over the last 20 years the number of missionaries has decreased by 34%. I have heard this several times before. This is especially alarming since there are so many pastors who are well beyond retirement age with no one in place to take over when they are no longer able to minister.

I hope this graphic will give you more to pray about concerning Japan and the missionaries here.
